Bohemians to host German giants Schalke in friendly on Saturday October 11th

Bohemian FC is delighted to announce that we will host German giants Schalke in a friendly at Dalymount Park on Saturday October 11th at 3pm.

Bohs fans can now purchase tickets to the Jodi Stand for the game from tickets.bohemians.ie, while Schalke will send a separate link for travelling fans to purchase tickets for the Des Kelly Stand and Mono Stands.

Please note that memberships, season tickets and Junior Gypsies are not valid for friendly games, anyone wishing to attend must purchase a match ticket.

From the famous UEFA Cup victory away to Kaiserlautern in the UEFA Cup under Roddy Collins in 2000 to the memorable friendly away to Union Berlin in 2022 under Keith Long, Bohs have a long tradition of facing German clubs.

Prior to that, under Seán Thomas, Bohs took on FC Köln and Hamburg in the UEFA Cup in the early 1970s, while Billy Young’s champions faced East German league winners Dynamo Dresden in 1978.

Manager Alan Reynolds said: “We are really looking forward to this game. It should be a great occasion.

“Irish clubs are used to hosting teams from England and Scotland in friendly games over the years but there’s something different about welcoming such a big club from Germany.

“Schalke have a long tradition of travelling to games across Europe so we are looking forward to welcoming a big crowd travelling over to Dublin.

“But for me and for our players, it is good timing during the international break for us to really test ourselves against strong opposition as we prepare for what is going to be a really important final few weeks of our season.”
