About Us
The Bohemian Football Club (An Cumann Peile Bóihéamach) was founded on 6th September 1890 at The Gate Lodge in The Phoenix Park, moving in 1901 to play its home games at Dalymount Park, then known as Pisser Dignam’s Field. Dalymount has been our home ever since. With full houses a regular occurrence nowadays, the stadium is earmarked for a full redevelopment into an 8,000+ capacity modern facility, which will help our club grow further.
One of the world’s oldest fan-owned clubs, and a founding member of the League of Ireland in 1921, our men’s senior team are 11-time winners of the league. On top of it, we are 7-time FAI Cup winners, with 3 League of Ireland Cups, 1 Setanta Cup and 33 Leinster Senior Cup winners, among other titles. We have also embarked on numerous campaigns in European competition.
Our women’s senior team were accepted into the League of Ireland in 2020, and as well as our men’s & women’s senior teams, we compete at Academy level with 4 men’s teams (U-20/17/15/14) and 2 women’s teams (U-19/17).
With an ethos of Football for All, our range of teams also includes a youths and junior section with 500+ players, a Bohemians amputee team and down syndrome team, and visually impaired and walking football programmes.
Our mission at Bohemians is to use football as a force for good. In 2023, we launched our first ever 5-year FSR Strategy, detailing across five key pillars how we intend to improve the lives of those in our communities. We have partnered on many programmes and initiatives both locally and globally – in areas such as climate justice and sustainability, health & wellbeing, inclusivity of migrants and the LGBTQ+ community, and in support of homeless & vulnerable children & adults.
In today’s footballing world, the existence of fan-owned clubs becomes more and more rare. At Bohemians, we are not bankrolled by private investors and rely on the active citizenship of our supporters. It is the hard graft and support of our many volunteers, fans and the wider community that help Bohs to compete at the top levels of football in Ireland.
