Alan Reynolds says Bohemians are determined to leave everything on the pitch to advance to the next round of the FAI Cup tonight.
Bohs host Sligo Rovers at Dalymount Park in what Reynolds says is a massive game for both sides.
He said: “This is a huge game for us and a huge game for Sligo too. Both teams are really going to be up for it and both teams will go into the game believing they can win.
“Any time we’ve played Sligo this season, it’s been a real battle. They’ve strengthened in the last month too, so we know how difficult this game is going to be.
“John Russell is a good manager, their league position goes out for this one and I know they will be really up for this game.
“But we’re really up for it too. We’ve trained really well all week and there is a great determination in the group.
“This is a game where we really need to start strongly. We need to make home advantage count so we want our fans behind from the first whistle.”
Reynolds says that while his side were frustrated not to hold out for victory away to Shelbourne last week, his players have dusted themselves down and are ready to go again.
He said: “We were kicking ourselves to concede so late against Shels last week. A draw away to the league champions isn’t the worst result on paper but when you are leading in the 90th minute, as I said after the game, it almost felt like a defeat.
“We’ve been on the right side of late goals earlier this season and we’ve enjoyed all the emotion that they bring but when you are on the wrong side of it, it hurts.
“But what I have seen in training all week is grit in our players and a real motivation. They are really determined to get off to the right start tonight.
“As I said ahead of the last round, there are players in this group who feel they have something to prove in this competition and that they owe our fans in this competition.
“The club has got to two finals in the last few years, and we got to a semi-final last year where we didn’t show up.
“We’re only in the early stages of the cup but those disappointments and missed opportunities always have to drive you to do better, and we are going into this game really determined to make sure our name is in the draw for the next round.”
