Bohemian FC is delighted to announce that striker Josh Harpur has signed his first professional contract with the club.
Now 16, made his first-team debut in the FAI Cup tie against Killester-Donnycarney in July aged just 15.
Manager Alan Reynolds said: “Josh is a really good finisher. He’s a big lad, and really fit and strong for his age.
“He’s a proper attacking centre-forward, who wants to score goals. He has a super attitude and he’s really hungry to do well here.
“He’s been capped at underage level, he’s a quality young player so we are absolutely delighted to have such an exciting prospect with us.”
Harpur began his journey with his local club Kingscourt Harps in Cavan. He represented Cavan and Monaghan at inter-county level, originally as a goalkeeper until the age of 11.
He had brief stints with Shelbourne and Drogheda United’s academy before joining the Bohemian FC Academy in 2024.
Harpur said: “When Bohs called, it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down. From joining the U15s set-up to less than a year later coming on in front of thousands at Dalymount, it has been some experience.
“This is the proudest moment of my life, it’s what I’ve dreamed of since I was a young boy.
“I’m a centre-forward hungry for goals, and will always give 100% on the pitch. My goal every year is to score as many goals as possible, and this year is no different.
“I would 100% not be here today if it wasn’t for the people around me. I have the best support group around who are always pushing me and keeping me grounded.
“My mother and father who spend 3+ hours a day getting me to training, and my overall family for the support they’ve shown – these are all the people who deserve to celebrate today as much as me.”
