Everyone at Bohemian FC wishes to extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of our former player, Leo Farrell, who passed away on August 1st.
Leo was born in Cabra in 1943 and grew up on the North Circular Road close to Dalymount Park.
His uncle, Tom Kieran had a long association with Bohemians and was a committee member and club Vice President.
Leo played for Blackfriars and Drumcondra before signing for Bohemians in 1962 and making his first team debut later that year at outside right against Shamrock Rovers.
While he played with the first team through the 1962-63 season most of his time at the club was spent in the “B” team.
Leo left the club in the 1965-66 season and later found success with Tullamore Town, winning both the League of Ireland B division and the Intermediate Cup. He remained a proud supporter of Bohemian FC to the end.
We extend our condolences to Leo’s friends and family, in particular his son Gerry, a long-standing club historian, programme contributor and valued volunteer.
