Bohemian FC is delighted to confirm the signing of full-back Ryan Burke from Waterford.
The 25-year-old returns to the club having played over 100 games for Waterford since his arrival there ahead of the 2023 season following a brief spell with Bohs in 2022.
He previously spent five years with Birmingham City and a season with Mansfield Town.
Welcoming Burke back to Dalymount Park, manager Alan Reynolds said:
“I am delighted to bring Burkey back to the club. You can see over the past number of the seasons how he has really established himself as an excellent left-back in the league.
“He’s defensively very sound, he likes to get forward and has chipped in with the odd goal as well too.
“It’s really important that when we are bringing players into the club that they are of the right character and his character is top drawer.
“He has a real hunger to do well and push on now after three really good years at Waterford.
“I worked with him there so I know well the qualities he will bring to the club. He will be a great addition to the group.”
Burke said: “I’m buzzing – I am delighted to be back and I can’t wait to get going. It was a quick decision for me after talking with Rennie.
“I really enjoyed my time working with him at Waterford. He was brilliant down there, so I am really looking forward to coming back to Bohs and having the opportunity of being able to work with him again.
“I want to show the fans here what I am about. My last time here was quite short so I’m chomping at the bit to get back, and I’m really looking forward to the season getting started now.
“I have matured as a player and a person at Waterford, so my first goal now is to establish myself now in the team at Bohs.”
