Bohemian FC is delighted to confirm the signing of Ireland U21 attacking midfielder Harry Vaughan on loan from Hull City.
The 21-year-old, who began his career with Oldham, has amassed over 60 league appearances in England in the Championship, League One and League Two.
From Trafford in England, Vaughan qualifies for Ireland through his grandparents from Kerry and Galway on his mother’s side. He joins on loan until the end of June.
Welcoming Vaughan to Dalymount Park, manager Alan Reynolds said: “Harry is a real attacking player who can play anywhere in the attacking areas, as an attacking midfielder and also out wide.
“He has a lot of experience for a young player. He has played at a really high level in England including in the Championship and has obviously played at international level for the Ireland U21s.
“He is an exciting talent. He is a clever, hungry footballer who wants to do well. I know him from my time with the Ireland U21s and I think he is a player who will excite our fans and really do well for us.
“He has a super attitude. He wants to come to Ireland. He has seen players come to Ireland from Hull and he wants to come here and impress as well.
“We are delighted to get him on board. It’s something we have been working on for a while now. Harry has shown an eagerness to come to Bohs and feels that he can play a big part so we are really looking forward to working with him now.”
Vaughan said: “I’m delighted to be joining Bohs. I spoke to Rennie and he really sold the club to me, so it was a no-brainer for me.
“He sold me the style of play, told me the type of technical players Bohs have and told me how good a dressing room there is at the club so I’m really looking forward to getting started.
“I know Rennie from my time in Ireland U21 camps and I really enjoyed his coaching style so I am really looking forward to working with him again.
“I view myself as a technical player who likes to get on the ball, run at defenders and make things happen. I want to excite supporters and I know that is the style of play that Bohs want to play.
“I can’t wait to get started. I spoke to Cathal McCarthy, my team-mate at Hull who was with UCD, and he was telling me what a big occasion the first game of the season at the Aviva is going to be so I am really looking forward to that and I want to be part of it.”
